Book #5- Two Girls Down- Louisa Luna

Two Girls Down- Louisa Luna
☕☕☕☕ (4/5)

First off, I fell in love with the main characters almost immediately! The storyline was dark and suspenseful and I loved it. A murder mystery/ whodunnit that has so many suspects you will not be able to put the book down until you find out the conclusion.

A pretty good rollercoaster ride!

Heart Ring Dishes

12.2.18

These heart-shaped ring dishes are so freaking cute! I used Valentine's Day as an excuse to make these but you can make these anytime.

I was inspired by this tutorial here!

Red Velvet Cake Jars

5.2.18

Cake in a jar?! Sign me the heck up.

Using boxed cake mix is not my favourite thing to do but when the outcome is this cute, no one really cares! Plus, it makes for an extremely easy Valentine's Day dessert.

Book #4: The Woman in the Window- A.J. Finn

The Woman in the Window- A.J. Finn
☕☕☕☕ (4/5)

Psychological suspense for fans of Girl on the Train/ Gone Girl. I throughly enjoyed this novel and finished this 420-page book in 24 hours. HOWEVER, there was no mind-blowing plot twist ending that I always crave in a 5 star novel.

Even with some of the predictability, this was still a major page-turner for me. You won't regret reading this one!

Cork Board Makeover

28.1.18

I've had this old cork board sitting downstairs forever. My plans to do a little makeover on it kept getting pushed back- until this past weekend. My friend Z helped me out with this one- she's so creative and I love getting her mind involved on a project.

This DIY is so versatile and crazy easy! I chose feather stencils, but you can literally use any stencils you want. Decorate using ticket stubs, photos, pom poms, seriously whatever you want. I printed some cute inspirational graphics I found on Pinterest, but I also created my own on Canva. I wanted the board to represent my year ahead and some of the goals that I would like to achieve!

Book #3: The Wolves of Winter- Tyrell Johnson

26.1.18

The Wolves of Winter- Tyrell Johnson
☕☕☕☕ (4/5)

I enjoyed this novel. It started off a bit slower and took some time to get into it. Hunger Games vibes with a little bit of romance, and some survival guide tips.

I loved how well-written this was- I completely felt as though I was right there in the Yukon dealing with the aftermath of an apocalypse that seemed very real. If you read and loved Hunger Games and other post-apocalyptic YA series', you will enjoy this.

Book #2: The Lying Game- Ruth Ware

18.1.18

The Lying Game- Ruth Ware
☕☕☕☕ (4/5)

One of my absolute favourite books that I read last year was In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. She is brilliant and her writing has me hooked. (Side note: if you have not read that one buy it here and read it now!)

This one was not as good as previous novels that I've read by her, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. If The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants was re-made into a murder mystery, this would be it. The Lying Game was not necessarily predictable, but there were no big shockers. Suspenseful and secretive, however I wouldn't consider it a nail-biting, page-turner. Ruth Ware certainly does have a way of creating characters that you feel completely attached to though!

Everything Bagel Seasoning + Goat Cheese Bites

14.1.18

Okay so. All over Instagram I've seen people seasoning their food with Trader Joe's Everything But The Bagel Seasoning. I needed it. Everything bagels are my jam. Unfortunately, I live in Canada where Trader Joe's does not exist and buying the seasoning on Amazon was a bit more pricey than I was willing to pay! Enter HOMEMADE SEASONING.

I made a couple different batches of this seasoning before I settled on one that myself and my taste-tester (Hi Geoff!) deemed acceptably delicious, salty, and garlicky. It's so freaking good. Incase you are stuck with what to use this on (you shouldn't be- it's good on everything!), I have provided our favourite ways to consume this seasoning.

Book #1: The Party- Robyn Harding

7.1.18

The Party- Robyn Harding
☕☕☕☕☕ (5/5)

This novel is fantastic. Such a great start to the New Year! I read the whole thing within 24 hours. It's seriously good.

The Party is comparable to (and even better than) Big Little Lies. If you read and enjoyed that one, you will eat this novel up!

*Warning: Almost every character in this book is very unlikeable.

Synopsis:
One invitation. A lifetime of regrets.

Sweet sixteen. It’s an exciting coming of age, a milestone, and a rite of passage. Jeff and Kim Sanders plan on throwing a party for their daughter, Hannah—a sweet girl with good grades and nice friends. Rather than an extravagant, indulgent affair, they invite four girls over for pizza, cake, movies, and a sleepover. What could possibly go wrong?

But things do go wrong, horrifically so. After a tragic accident occurs, Jeff and Kim’s flawless life in a wealthy San Francisco suburb suddenly begins to come apart. In the ugly aftermath, friends become enemies, dark secrets are revealed in the Sanders’ marriage, and the truth about their perfect daughter, Hannah, is exposed.
