Candy Corn Bath Bombs

How can you resist a bath bomb? It's impossible! I made a batch of these easy, and delicious-smelling bath bombs for Halloween and then gave them out to my friends. It was a major success!

Happy Halloween!

  • 1 cup citric acid (I bought mine on Amazon but you can also find it at Bulk Barn)
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)
  • 10 drops of essential or fragrance oils (I used Pumpkin Patch and Buttery Vanilla)
  • disposable martini cups (I bought mine at Dollarama)
  • food colouring (yellow + orange)

Step One:

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the citric acid, baking soda, and corn starch. Set aside.

Step Two:

In another small bowl, mix together the melted coconut oil and fragrance oils.

Step Three:

While whisking the dry ingredients, SLOWLY add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. If you add the wet ingredients too quickly, the mixture will react and your bath bombs will not turn out. Once you have added the wet and dry ingredients together completely, the mixture should have the consistency of wet sand.

Step Four:

Using 3 small bowls, separate the mixture among the 3 bowls. Do not split the mixture evenly. The first bowl should have less mixture than the other two- this bowl will be left white in colour. Add yellow food colouring to the second bowl until it is the colour you desire. Add orange food colouring to the third bowl until it is the colour you desire. Tip: I found it easier to mix the food colouring using my hands for this step.

Step Five:

Pack a little bit of the white mixture into the bottom (tip) of the martini cup. Next, add some of the orange mixture on top of the white and pack it down as tightly as possible. Top the martini cup off with the yellow mixture and again pack it down as tightly as you can. You can just use your hands, or take the back of a spoon to pack it tightly.

Step Six:

Let the cups sit overnight. Once they have dried, the bath bombs should slide out of the cups fairly easily.

Enjoy! xo
